Dr. John Ahlen,
President of the Arkansas Science & Technology Authority

Dr. John AhlenSince 1984, Dr. Ahlen has held the position of President of Arkansas Science and Technology Authority, acting as the leading science policy advisor to the Governor. Dr. Ahlen has also served as a White House Fellow at the Office of Science and Technology Policy. Dr. Ahlen acted as the Assistant Director for Science and Technology at the Illinois Legislative Council, directing the Council’s work on energy, environmental, and natural resource policy.

Dr. Ahlen received his undergraduate degree in Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Ahlen earned his Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Illinois Medical Center.


Major General Jack Leide, USA (Ret)
Major General Jack LeideMajor General Leide retired from the US Army after 33 years of service and four combat tours. Highlights of his Army career include: Airborne and Special Forces Commander, Military Intelligence Group Commander, Defense and Army Attaché to China, General Schwarzkopf's Director of Intelligence during the Desert Shield/Desert Storm, and Director of Operations at the Defense Intelligence Agency. Upon retirement, Major General Leide served as President of Global Information Technologies strategic business unit at Electronic Data Systems (EDS). He then was the Executive Vice President of Avenue Technologies Incorporated. He served as the President of Appenine Associates Limited, Executive Vice President of VONOVA Corporation, Executive Vice President of AIRCOM Ltd., as a member of three-man Executive Advisory Board for General Dynamics Land Systems. He sits on numerous company boards and on senior advisory panels for the Department of Defense.

A native of Auburn, New York, Major General Leide received a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University, and a Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law. Major General Leide is also a graduate of the Harvard University John Fitzgerald Kennedy School of Government.


Dr. John Scott,

Dr. John ScottDr. Scott is a highly recognized serial entrepreneur and inventor who founded ten technology companies within the past twenty years. The aggregated annual revenue of these companies is over $1 billion. Dr. Scott has authored business theories surrounding the development of technology enterprises which are now included in the curriculum of leading business schools in the U.S. Not content with theory, over a decade ago, Dr. Scott began putting his theories into practice within the structure of XL Vision, a technology enterprise factory. Dr. Scott’s transition from inventor to executive leadership was most notably demonstrated when he successfully led XL TechGroup, Inc. to a listing on the London Stock Exchange AIM Market in October, 2004.

Prior to forming XL Vision, Dr. Scott served as an advisory to U.S. and global governments and was appointed as head of the Unconventional Imaging Sector for SDI. Dr. Scott earned doctorates in both Physics and High-Energy Astrophysics from the University of Arizona.
